To us, lucky Halloween is going around to somebodies house and seeing they care enough about the holiday to give us free lollies. Is this Lucky Halloween the type that ends up pleasantly surprising us, or can we expect more? Keep reading our review to find out.

Also on offer from The Epic Journey is the autoplay function. This is accessed by clicking on the auto button on the lower left of the main game screen. While in this section the player can select the total amount of spins to play out from a drop-down box. The player can also set a loss limit via another drop-down box.

Additionally, the player can click the more autoplay settings button to reveal a set of more advanced rules. This gives the player the ability to stop if a single win exceeds a selected amount, if a single jackpot is won, or when a bonus feature is won.

Background:

Halloween in its original form is thought to have been influenced from the customs and beliefs of Celtic speaking countries. The day itself was marked as the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. Obviously this makes the original intent not so accurate for those of us in the southern hemisphere.

This is also seen as the time where the boundary between this world and the otherworld thinned. Yes, apparently demons, beast and boogins are polite enough to obey the rules and time-frame set by a nation of olden Celts.

During this time spirits and fairies travel into our world, hiding car keys, causing your food to go off before the use-by date and otherwise being a bunch of knobs.

This holiday ended up being incredibly popular, spreading over the world and mutating into the version we see today.

Other Features and Bonuses

This game comes with a collection of 4 different Pumpkin Biker Features, these are activated randomly during the main game. The details for these are as follows:

The special reels feature removes all the low paying symbols from the reels for that spin. This allows greater wins than which would usually be available.

Lucky Halloween Mega Wild

The mega wild feature brings with it a 3×3 wild symbol. This will remain in place for that spin only.

Lucky Halloween Pumpkin Tree

When the pumpkin tree feature activates the player is given a bonus multiplier for that spin. This can sit at anywhere between 2x-20x.

Lucky Halloween Random Wilds

The random wild feature in this game brings extra wild symbols onto the board.

Lucky Halloween Wild

The wild symbol in Lucky Halloween comes as the above jack-o-lantern. This can substitute for any symbol except the free spins and bonus symbols.

Lucky Halloween Free Spins

The free spins symbol in this game appears as above golden pot of gems. Gaining at least 3 of these over all reels in a single spin gives the player access to the free spins bonus game.

Lucky Halloween Bonus

The bonus symbol in this game appears as the above tower set against the moon. Gaining at least 3 of these anywhere on a single spin activates the full moon bonus.

Bonus Games

The free spins bonus game in Lucky Halloween is accessed when the player gains at least 3 free spin symbols in a single spin. When these are gained the player will gain access to the another screen with several bowls available. Clicking on one of these will randomly reveal the amount of free spins which the player will be able to use.

When the player gains at least 3 bonus symbols in one spin they gain access to the full moon bonus game. In this game a special set of reels appear. During this game new symbols are introduced which can massively increase the bet win multiplier. These top out at 800x the player's bet.

How to Play:

Basic play for Lucky Halloween is as simple as a player selecting a betting amount and clicking spin.

Alternatively the player can click on the autoplay button toward the bottom right of the main game page in order to enter the autoplay section. When in this section the player can set an amount of spins to played out automatically. They can also set ending rules which can be used to stop these free spins.

Overall Design and Usability:

When it comes to design, Lucky Halloween is a game which sticks closely to its theme. This meant the blues and purples of an atmospheric night plus the colour and wonder you might expect with the costumes, candy and magic of the holiday. While the colours in use here could easily clash, Red Tiger have done a great job in fitting these together in such a way that is not only attractive, but well suited to the theme. This extends to the animations and background of the game, which are of similarly high quality.

In terms of usability, Lucky Halloween is a game which performs very well. Here we have most of the base options which the players have grown to expect, including a robust autoplay section. The game itself also appears fast to respond and is fully reliable, at least it was during our testing process. There are only two areas where this game might be problematic. The first is that the game does not come with any graphics options, which can be a major pain for those on older or less powerful devices. The second is that the game is not entirely open with all of its rules. Finding out the bonus structure was not entirely possible from the game itself, nor from the official Red Tiger website. Instead, we had to keep our free play version running until we were lucky enough to hit all the different bonus structures.

Where to find it:

Red Tiger may not be as common as the big boys in the business, but they still do very well. Check out the following links for website reviews which offer games from the Red Tiger framework. From here you can decide which casino works for you, and you can jump right in!

Rating:

Not the most original of themes, but one which is expertly crafted. Lucky Halloween brings with it a great look, a system which works very well, and a large and generous bonus structure. While this was a game which was crafted and released to stick to the holiday itself it should be noted that Lucky Halloween is far better than a mere cash-in. A great pokie for beginners and veterans alike, even if you don't care for the holiday on which this is based.
